Families to benefit as Aura promotes exercise with reduction in swim prices

Aura is taking steps to encourage families to exercise and to have fun together by slashing the cost of its family swim rates during the school summer holidays in 6 of its centres nationwide.

The initiative is designed to promote family exercise and to provide a solution for parents looking for ways to keep their children active now that the long summer holidays have started.

“Children love swimming at Aura and our visitor numbers always increase during the summer. A visit to the pool is something that every parent organises but we wanted to take that a step further by encouraging parents to start exercising with their children,” explained Josephine Pepper, Eastern Regional Manager.

“We decided that the most practical way to encourage families to choose exercise as a means of having fun together was to reduce our family swim rates during July and August when children are off school and when they really want to swim,” she added.

“Swimming is a fantastic way to keep children occupied and to enjoy quality time as a family. It allows children to burn off energy and to improve their swimming skills while also providing an opportunity for parents who don’t exercise that regularly to improve their fitness,” Josephine continued.

At Aura centres in Dundalk, Drogheda, Navan, Trim, Tullamore, Tuam and Carrick-on-Shannon, families visiting the pool can now enjoy its swimming facilities for one rate of just €15 instead of the usual €21. In the same centres Aura is also catering for parents who would prefer to use their gym and its Gym or Swim rate has been reduced to only €5 before 4.30 p.m. and to €7 after 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, while the rate on Saturdays and Sundays is just €7 during each day.

“Families do not have to be members of Aura to make use of our facilities. They can simply choose our ‘Pay As You Go’ option. Our fully qualified swim instructors will be available at all times to answer questions about how each family member can improve their fitness and swimming skills,” Dorothy Costello, Western Regional Manager explained.
