Aura promotes swimming for all ages with three different swimming courses

Swimming is part and parcel of the summer holidays and Aura Youghal Leisure Centre is giving both parents and children the opportunity to learn this valuable life skill so they can make the most out of their summer swims at home and abroad.

“Learning to swim is a life skill. It is never too late or too early to think about learning to swim. Aura Youghal want to ensure that as many people as possible get the opportunity to learn how to swim,” explained Tracy Kenneally, Operations Manager at Aura Youghal Leisure Centre.

For children keen on learning how to swim the ‘Aura Swim Academy’ offers children of all levels and abilities the opportunity to have fun and build their confidence in the water over a 10-week period.

All of the children in the ‘Swim Academy’ progress at their own pace. Each child who participates on the course is assessed on their first day and assigned to a class which reflects their ability instead of their age.

Aura’s experienced instructors will be on hand to guide each child through the basics of swimming and improve their skills through a programme of gradual progression and motivation.

Aura Youghal are now taking enrolments for the next ten week course of its ‘Swim Academy’. The classes take place every Tuesday and Wednesday at half hour intervals from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., on Fridays at 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and every Saturday at half hour intervals from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The ‘Aura Swim Academy’ costs €69 for each 10-week session and Aura members receive a 10% discount

Aura Youghal are giving adults who are interested in learning how to swim the opportunity to do so with their Adult Swimming Lessons. These lessons cater for people of all abilities and are split into three levels, beginners, Intermediate and advanced.

Aura is now taking enrolments for the adult swimming lessons which take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 8.pm. and 8.30 pm. The classes cost €85 for the ten week course with a 10% discount for all Aura members.

Aura are also catering for children who are recent graduates of the ‘Aura Swim Academy’ or are in the final stages of the ‘Swim Academy’ who are looking to continue their training and further progress their swimming skills.

The ‘Teen Swim’ Classes are ideal for youngsters who are interested in progressing to lifeguarding or competitive club swimming. They focus on lane coaching and will help improve swimming stamina, endurance and speed.
The ‘Teen Swim’ classes commence on Friday, August 7th. The half hour classes take place every Friday at 6.30 p.m. and the cost for the ten week course is €69 with a 10% discount for Aura members.
