Aura promotes family swimming with reduced summer swim rates

Aura Tullamore Leisure Centre is taking steps to encourage families to exercise and to have fun together by slashing the cost of its family swim rates during the school summer holidays.

“We decided that the most practical way to encourage families to choose exercise as a means of having fun together was to reduce our family swim rates during August when children are off school and when they really want to swim,” explained Alun Davies, Operations Manager at Aura Tullamore Leisure Centre.

“Swimming is a fantastic way to keep children occupied and to enjoy quality time as a family. It allows children to burn off energy and to improve their swimming skills while also providing an opportunity for parents who don’t exercise that regularly to improve their fitness,” Alun continued.

Families visiting the pool can now enjoy it’s swimming facilities for one rate of just €15 instead of the usual €23. This price includes two adults and three children. Aura is also catering for parents who want to use the pool themselves by reducing their adult swim rate to only €7 during peak hours and reducing their off peak swim rate to just €5. These reduced swim rates are on offer every day for the month of August.

“Families do not have to be members of Aura Tullamore Leisure Centre to make use of our facilities. They can simply choose our ‘Pay As You Go’ option. Our fully qualified swim instructors will be available at all times to answer questions about how each family member can improve their fitness and swimming skills,” Alun explained.

Aura is also reminding parents that they are now taking enrolments for the next course of its popular ‘Swim Academy.’

“The Aura ‘Swim Academy’ classes are suitable for children of all ages and all abilities. Each child is assessed at the beginning of the course and is put into a class that reflects their ability rather than their age so that they are learning alongside children of the same standard. We feel this is the best way to teach children as it allows them the opportunity to progress at their own pace”, explained Alun.

Aura’s experienced instructors guide each child through the ten week programme which covers the basics of swimming and helps improve their skills through a programme of gradual progression and motivation.

The Aura ‘Swim Academy’ classes commence on Wednesday, August 26th. Enrolment costs €73.50 for the ten weeks and includes a free skills assessment. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment and a 10% discount applies for Aura members.

Aura are also reminding people that they are now offering reduced rates for their soccer pitchs during the month of August. The outdoor all weather soccer pitch can now be used for one hour for just €40 or €60 euro for two hours.
