Aura offers adults opportunity to develop swimming skills

Adults interested in improving their swim skills have plenty to look forward to this winter with the introduction of the ‘Adult Lane Coaching’ classes at Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre.

The ‘Adult Lane Coaching’ is an ideal course for adults who already know how to swim but want to further develop their swimming technique and ability.

The classes provide a great aerobic workout allowing people get fit and shape up through water exercise. The focus of the training is on improving swimming ability, stamina and speed.

“Learning to swim is an essential skill. It is never too late or too early to think about learning to swim. At Aura we ensure that as many people as possible get the opportunity to learn to swim and to develop their swimming skills to the best of their ability,” explained Siobhan O’ Flaherty, Operations Manager at Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre.

“We pride ourselves on offering people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to develop their swim skills and we try to ensure that people get the most out of their swimming experience,” added Siobhan.

The ‘Adult Lane Coaching’ gets underway on Thursday 29th of October with hour long lessons taking place every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Classes cost €85 for the 10 weeks or €9 for ‘Pay As You Go’ customers.

Aura is also reminding parents that they are still taking enrolments for the next course of its popular ‘Swim Academy’.

“Aura ‘Swim Academy’ is suitable for children of all ages and all abilities. Each child is assessed at the beginning of the course and is put into a class that reflects their ability rather than their age so that they are learning alongside children of the same standard. We feel this is the best way to teach children as it allows them the opportunity to progress at their own pace,” explained Siobhan.

Aura’s experienced instructors will be on hand to guide each child through the basics of swimming and improve their skills through a programme of gradual progression and motivation.

Enrolment costs €73 for the ten weeks and includes a free skills assessment. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment and a 10% discount applies for Aura members.
