Killarney people liven up their winter evenings with new Salsa dance craze

News released: 29th Oct 2009

The town of Killarney is set to boast some of the best dancers in the country following news of an exciting new dance class being launched at Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre.

Aura fitness instructors are introducing a new ‘Salsa Tone’ class, which will combine a fast-moving workout with lessons in some of the world’s most popular and enjoyable dance routines.

“We are inviting people to come and enjoy some Salsa dancing. Together with some feisty music, we have produced a fun and energetic aerobic workout which is a great way to liven up the dull winter evenings,” said Paul Cullinan, Operations Manager at Killarney Sports and Leisure.

“We introduced the ‘Salsa Tone’ class as a trial over the past number of weeks and it proved to be very popular, so it made sense for us to start it on a permanent basis. It is definitely a more exciting and modern take on the standard dance workout class” added Paul.

“Apart from getting fit, losing weight and toning up, the people who sign up to the course will become better dancers and be ready to show off their moves for the party season,” added Paul.

The ‘Salsa Tone’ classes get underway on Thursday, November 5th. The hour long classes take place every Thursday evening at 9 p.m. The 6 week course cost €45.

The dance classes are part of the new fitness timetable which has recently been launched in the centre. The schedule offers a selection of classes which have something to suit everyone’s tastes including Thai Boxing, Hip-Hop Dancing and Taekwondo.

“Variety is a hugely important in keeping people motivated and enthusiastic about their workouts. Everyone’s health and fitness programme should be varied, challenging and fun. That is why we are introducing these new classes to the timetable, so there is something available to suit everyone,” explained Paul.

Further information about the ‘Salsa Tone’ classes or any of the other classes and programmes taking place at Aura Killarney is available by telephoning 064 6636554.
