Family fun at Aura Drogheda this Sunday 16th Aug

Families looking for a fun day out have the perfect opportunity to enjoy themselves this month with Aura Drogheda Leisure Centre extending an open invitation to all for it’s Family Fun Day.

Aura is one of the most popular family recreational centres in Drogheda and staff at the centre have been busy organising a host of activities for children and adults to enjoy when the event takes place on Sunday, August 16th.

“Our Summer Family Fun Day is one of the busiest days of the year and we have plenty for families with children of all ages to enjoy. There is no entry fee and all of our staff are looking forward to meeting members and visitors and to answering questions about our ‘Pay as You Go’ service, our fitness classes, or about how to enrol in the Aura Swim Academy,” explained Michelle Finnan, Operations Manager at Aura Drogheda Leisure Centre.

All the fun gets underway at 1 p.m. The day promises plenty of activity and games for all with a selection of bouncing castles including a super sized ‘Titanic’ bouncing castle, a kiddies bouncing castle for younger children and for the more adventurous, a bouncing castle assault course.

For those wanting to sample some fun sporting action there will be an egg and spoon race and a parent and toddler race giving parents and their children the opportunity to team up and make their mark on the sporting field.

Refreshments will be served on the day and Apache pizza will also be on hand to make sure everyone is well fed.

Children can also enjoy face painting and novelty games throughout the day with something to interest children of all ages. Aura are also encouraging all families to have fun in the water together by offering family swims for the day for just €15, this price includes two adults and three children.

Aura Drogheda is also reminding parents that they are still taking enrolments for their ‘Intensive Swim Lessons’. These lessons provide a lot of individual attention and are designed to ensure that participants improve their skills and make progress over a short period of time.

The lessons are open to swimmers of all levels. The week long classes will run from August 24th -28th with lessons taking place from 10. 15 a.m. to 11 a.m. each day. Classes cost €50 with a 10% discount for members.
