Leitrim youngsters take centre stage at Aura Hip Hop Show

The town of Carrick-On Shannon is set to boast some of the best and brightest dancers in the country this year with the success of their exciting new dance class at Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre.

The graduates of Carrick-On-Shannon’s latest dance class craze are set to take centre stage this month when they showcase their talents at the Aura Hip Hop Show.

All of the young stars will perform in front of friends and family in this one off performance which takes place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, 19th December at Aura Leitrim.

The ‘Hip Hop Dance’ class has been a huge success with local kids because it combines a fast-moving workout with lessons in some of the worlds most popular and enjoyable dance routines. The classes give youngsters the opportunity to get fit and have fun at the same time.

“The classes are hugely popular with local children. Together with some funky music, we have produced a fun and energetic aerobic workout which youngsters really seem to enjoy,” explained Siobhan Perry, Operations Manager at Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre.

“We introduced the ‘Hip-Hop Dance’ class initially as a trial and it proved to be hugely popular with youngsters so it made sense for us to do it on a permanent basis. The classes are a more modern take on the standard exercise class and many youngsters find they provide a much more exciting and enjoyable workout,” added Siobhan.

“Apart from getting fit and having fun, the youngsters who sign up to the classes will all become better dancers. We feel that the show is an ideal way for them to showcase their new moves to their friends and families,” added Siobhan.

The ‘Hip Hop Dance’ classes take place every Friday evening at 5 p.m. All classes last 45 minutes and cost €5.50 per child.
