Trim people respond to Triathlon challenge at Aura

Fitness enthusiasts and triathletes in Trim have responded strongly to a special ‘Indoor Triathlon’ gym challenge, which is scheduled to take place at Aura Trim Leisure Centre on Wednesday, November 11th and Sunday, November 15th.

The Triathlon is suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels who are interested in a fresh individual fitness challenge.

“The focus of the Triathlon is to really get people motivated and enthusiastic about working out. It is open to everyone regardless of what their fitness ability is. It is an ideal way to kick start your winter fitness plan and offers a great way to get fit and shape up before the festive season,” explained Damian Smith, Fitness Manager at Aura Trim Leisure Centre.

“We have all different levels of fitness here at Aura so while our indoor triathlon will give serious athletes the chance to prepare properly for a similar outdoor event that they might be targeting, it will also give those people who are not so fit the opportunity to take part, get in shape and have some fun at the same time.”

To cater for all fitness abilities Aura’s ‘Indoor Triathlon’ is made of three different levels, Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Gold Level will consist of a 750M swim, a 10km cycle and a 5km run. The Silver level will consist of Silver of a 500M swim, a 7.5 km cycle and a 3km run. The Bronze level will consist of a 150M swim, a 5km cycle and a 2km run.

“We have received a great response from both members and customers and many people are already in training. Everyone is looking forward to it, even some of the Aura staff are participating and there is a friendly rivalry building up already,” added Damian.

“As an added incentive, we will be awarding a number of prizes to participants after the event, once all the times have been tallied,” added Damian.

Aura is still taking names for the triathlon. Those who sign up will get the opportunity to meet with Aura’s fully-qualified fitness instructors, where they will receive nutritional advice, exercises and specific triathlon training programmes.

Aura would also like to remind people of the new fitness timetable being launched at the centre this week. In order to meet demand there is an increase in the number of popular fitness classes on the schedule. There is also an addition of a new 15 minute FREE ‘Abs class’ which is a class that takes place in between the other fitness classes. This class provides an ideal workout for anyone looking to do that extra bit of toning in between their regular fitness classes or gym programmes.
