Autumn ‘Swim Academy’ places filling up fast at Aura Leitrim

Parents who want to give their children the opportunity to learn how to swim this autumn need look no further than Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre who is now taking enrolments for the next course of its popular ‘Swim Academy’.

The Aura ‘Swim Academy’ offers children of all levels and abilities the opportunity to have fun and build their confidence in the water over a 10-week period.

Aura’s experienced instructors will be on hand to guide each child through the basics of swimming and improve their skills through a programme of gradual progression and motivation.

“Learning to swim has become hugely popular with children, not only because it is an essential skill but because of the enjoyment factor as well,” explained Siobhan O’ Flaherty, Operations Manager at Aura Leitrim Leisure Centre.

“Each child who enrols on the academy will be assessed and assigned to a class which reflects their ability instead of their age. In this way, they will be learning alongside swimmers of the same standard and progressing at their own pace,” added Siobhan.

Enrolment costs €73 for the ten weeks and includes a free skills assessment. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment and a 10% discount applies for Aura members.

Aura Leitrim is also offering ladies interested in learning how to swim the opportunity to do so with the re-introduction of their ‘Ladies Swimming Lessons’. These lessons cater for ladies of all swimming standards and are split into three levels, beginners, intermediate and advanced.

“The ‘Ladies Swimming Lessons’ have proven to be hugely popular with women. The feedback we have been getting has been really positive. People really appreciate the fact that our focus is on ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn how to swim regardless of what their age is. At Aura we believe that it is never too late or too early to learn how to swim,” added Siobhan.

Aura is now taking enrolments for the ‘Ladies Swimming Lessons’ which get underway on Wednesday, 21st October. Classes take place every Wednesday at 12.30 pm. The classes cost €85 for the ten week course with a 10% discount for all Aura members.
