Early morning workouts in store for Killarney fitness enthusiasts

News released: 16th Oct 2009

Killarney Sports and Leisure have taken steps to cater for the increased demand in their facilities by extending their opening hours. The initiative is designed to facilitate the growing number of people who want to exercise before they go to work in the morning.

“After talking to members and customers we made the decision to extend our opening hours. People really want the opportunity to be able to get their daily workout done before they go to work, so we decided the best way to facilitate this is to open earlier in the mornings” explained Paul Cullinan, Operations Manager at Killarney Sports and Leisure.

“Office workers who have been using the gym on a regular basis are telling us that they find a gym session first thing in the morning is the best way to kick start their day,” said Paul.

“The response to this initiative has been really positive and it gives more people the opportunity to come down and avail of our excellent facilities at an hour that suits them. We understand the pressures and time constraints of modern day living and that is why we are making it as easy as possible for people to fit exercise into their overall lifestyle and daily routine,” explained Paul.

People who want to exercise before they go to work now have the opportunity to do so with the addition of some early morning fitness classes. The ‘Step Aerobics’ class takes place every Tuesday morning at 7.45 a.m. and the ‘Indoor Cycling’ class takes place every Wednesday morning at 7.45 a.m. Aura Killarney is now open from 7.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Monday to Friday.

Aura is also reminding people of the new fitness timetable which has just been launched in the centre. The new schedule boasts a selection of new classes which have something to suit everyone’s tastes including Thai Boxing, Salsa Tone and Tai Quan Do.

“Everyone’s health and fitness programme should be varied, challenging and fun. Running on a treadmill, lifting weights, or swimming may be fine for some people, but there are others who may require something else to maintain their interest and ensure they keep up their exercise routine. Variety is hugely important, people want something in their workouts to keep them motivated and challenged. At Killarney Sports and Leisure there is something on offer to cater for everyone’s fitness ability and taste,” explained Paul.

Further information about any of the classes or programmes taking place at Aura Killarney is available by telephoning 064 6636554.
